Caregiver needed for young children

(11 years old boy with disability and 5 years old girl)

$15.5-18/hr based on experience

A full-time in-home caregiver is needed for childcare at employer’s home in Scarborough (Warden Ave/ Steels Ave)

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Full-time (35-40hr/week)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting with personal care: bathing, grooming, exercise, hygiene tasks
• Slow feeding child with disability.
• Supervising and monitoring the safety of the child
• Accompanying for Doctor visit and outdoor play.
• Preparing and organizing mealtimes and snacks for child
• Light housekeeping to ensure a safe home environment
• General health care: overseeing and administering medication per instructions
• Organizing activities or implement a curriculum that allows children to learn and play
• Developing schedules and routines to ensure the child have enough sleep, playtime and physical activity
• Tracking the child’s progress, routines, and interests

Requirements:

• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Pass medical check and non-smoking
• College. CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years or higher in education
• Previous work experience in childcare is preferred
• Ability to tend to emotional and physical needs of child.
• Knowledge with taking care developmental delays and autism patient is preferred.
• Flexibility working in the evening and weekend maybe required.
• Up to current First Aid and CPR certification
