Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible of aiding in the coordination between owner and employees. The Assistant will perform tasks such as overseeing the owner’s agenda and schedule, updating records, resolving complaints, ensure health and safety standards are upheld, liaise with employees, among other tasks as required.

This person will need to show proficiency in leadership, decision-making, conflict resolution, problem-solving skills, time management, negotiation, effective communication, and teamwork.

Job Description and Duties:

  • Open and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information internally.

  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory

  • Schedule and confirm appointments and meetings for the employer.

  • Maintain reports of employees’ paperwork

  • Answer telephone and electronic enquiries and relay telephone calls and messages

  • Set up and maintain manual information filing systems.

  • Determine and establish office procedures.

  • Greet visitors, ascertain nature of business and direct visitors to employer or appropriate person.

  • Record and prepare minutes of meetings.

  • May compile data, statistics and other information

  • May supervise and train staff.

  • Prepare reports of sales, scheduling and others as needed.

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full Time, Long Term

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week 

Wages:  $22.50 per hour 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations 

Benefits Package: 

  • Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer

  • Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis 


Location of Work: Unit 211-3030 Lincoln Ave, Coquitlam, BC V3B 6B4

Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School is an asset

  • At least six months’ previous clerical experience is required

  • Basic English communication skills required
