JOB POSITION: Drywall Installer (NOC 7284)

Salary: CDN $28/hr for 32 to 40 hours a week
Terms of employment: Permanent / Full time
Start date: As soon as possible.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Hand-eye co-ordination, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Combination of bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking, Sound discrimination.
Work Location: Various locations in Lower Mainland
Work Site Environment: Noisy, Dusty
Personal Suitability: Reliability, Client Focus, Dependability, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Team player.
Additional Skills: Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, estimate costs and materials, Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms.
Ability to Supervise: 3-4 people
Weight Handling: Up to 9kg (20lbs)
Work Setting: Industrial, Residential, Commercial.
Plasterer Specific Skills: Clean and prepare surfaces, Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster, Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required, Cure freshly plastered surfaces, Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency, Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings.
Drywall Installer and Finisher Specific Skills: Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets, Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints, Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound.
Lather Specific Skills: Prepare wall and ceiling layouts.
