Job Title: Hairstylist

Terms of Employment: Full-time/Permanent

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Wage: $15.20 – 17.00/ Hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Duties:

• Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair
• Recommend new styles and cuts to clients by studying facial features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences
• Produce desired hair styles by arranging, shaping, curling, cutting, trimming, setting, bleaching, dyeing, tinting, streaking and/or perming hair etc
• May apply hair extensions
• Shampoo and rinse hair
• Sanitize all instruments and equipment before and after use.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regular and new clientele
• Ensure that appointments are kept on schedule
• Always maintain a clean working environment.
• Assisting clients with questions or concerns about hair treatments.

Skills Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Completion of high school is required.
• Completion of a two- or three-year hairstyling apprenticeship program or completion of a college or other program in hairstyling combined with on-the-job training is required or
• Applicants with 2 or more years of professional hairstylist experience will be considered in replace of the formal education and training

Skillsets:

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
• Physical mobility, able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with high level attention to detail
• Reliability, Client focus, Effective dependability, team player, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility.
