Position: Painter (NOC 7294)

Wage Rate: $ 25 per hour. 40 hours per week.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time.

Education: High School Certificate. Trade Certificate is an asset.

Experience: 1-2 Years of Experience.

Work Locations: Various Location in Lower Mainland.

Business Location: 380 Dorset Road, Qualicum Beach, BC, V9K 1H5.

 Job Duties:

• Read specifications and blueprints to determine layout and calculate requirements.
• Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning.
• Assist and advise clients to select the color schemes and wall coverings.
• Assess proper thickness and texture of paint and other materials.
• Apply paint or other material such as enamel, oil, fibreglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls.
• Take away loose paint and old wallpapers. Repair cracks and holes in walls and apply sealer.
• Paint interior and exterior walls using a ladder.
• May provide cost estimates to clients.

Working Conditions:

• Work in wet, damp, strong odors, dust, cold/refrigerated environments.
• Heavy workloads, stand, bend, crouch, and kneel.

• Job is physically demanding, ability to lift 50lbs is an asset.
