Conducting safety checks and minor maintenance on trucks
Driving cargo to its destination, monitoring traffic and road conditions
Obeying road safety and transportation laws
Run ratchet straps and chains and binders to secure load to trailer.
Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible.
Maintaining logbooks and delivery paperwork
Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals and brakes
Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods
Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and on-board computers
Direct customer queries to management
Check vehicles and troubleshoot and maintain vehicles.
Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business.
Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo
Requirements
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required No experience is required, will train
Dependable, hardworking, punctual, and reliable
AZ license is preferred
Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English is essential.
