Job Summary:

I am seeking out a skilled children’s caregiver to take care of my son (ten years old) before and after school during times where parental supervision is not possible due overlapping schedules and commitments.

Job Description and Duties:

  • Supervise and care for child (10 years old) in the employer’s residence
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals for the child
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment at employer’s home
  • Instruct the child in personal hygiene
  • Oversee activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer
  • Discipline according to the methods requested by the parents
  • Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings
  • Provide care and emotional wellbeing to the child
  • Take child to and from school and other appointments
  • Perform other related duties as required

 

Education, Experience and Skills requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school is an asset
  • Related experience is an asset
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to perform the job duties
  • Must be able to work independently in an unsupervised setting
  • Must be able to communicate in English

Location of work:  Near the intersection of North Road and Clarke Road, Coquitlam

 

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time, Long-Term. 

 

Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Split Shift: 

  • Mondays through Fridays: 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Weekends, if required

Wages: $16.00 per hour

 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations.

Benefits:
4% vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday

on a bi-weekly basis.

 

Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible
