Job Description

Sanghera Farm Ltd is a leading blueberry producer in lower mainland British Columbia. We currently have need for two farm supervisors for our various farm locations.

Job Duties

• Co-ordinate, assign, schedule and oversee the work of general farm laborers and workers

• Develop work schedule and coordinate activities of farm workers

• Supervise and co-ordinate harvesting, irrigation, spraying and pruning activities to ensure peak efficiency

• Perform basic regular preventative maintenance of the farm premises and equipment

• Train new staff and ensure that they are aware of given role to perform specific tasks

• Oversee the overall handling of produce to ensure production meets the highest quality of standards for the company

• Keep the record and make reports on materials and production and maintain farm equipment

• Make reports on time, equipment, materials, and production; keeps records and prepares estimates of needs.

• Meet production targets and maintain quality control

• Ensure that health and safety policies and procedures are followed

• Ensure work is done in a timely manner

• Detecting disease and other problems in crops.

• Updating regularly to owners of crop progress.

Employment Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary school

Experience: Education diploma or 2 to 3 years of farming experience

Language: English is required. Punjabi will be an asset

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, repetitive tasks, ability to work in various work environments

Essential Skills: Problem solving, Decision making, Significant use of memory, time management, continuous learning, Well organized.

Other Information

The candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada. We encourage workers from Surrey, Abbotsford, Langley, Mission, Agassiz, and other nearby cities to apply as we have locations in lower mainland and Fraser valley. Canadians willing to relocate to Fraser Valley, B.C. for work from any part to Canada will be provided with Air Fare.

Benefits

We have consistent year-round work available with two weeks of vacation annually as per BC Employment Standards. Accommodation can also be provided at $30/week only.
