The principals of Fraser Plastics Ltd. are experienced manufacturing businessmen and women who have developed their process gradually to meet the growing demand for an effective grinding, washing, and extruding processing facility in the Pacific Northwest. The plant is located in the Albion Industrial area of Maple Ridge. Fraser Plastics processes post-consumer and post-industrial plastic, and sell plastic pellets, washed/regrind flakes and baled plastic.

We are currently looking for an energetic, experienced and efficient General Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to handle the operations, distribution and functions related to the manufacturing and distribution of our plastic products. Our ideal candidate has management experience in the manufacturing field. We are looking for strong skills in leadership and the right person to play an integral role in the company’s development.

Job Description and Duties:

 

• Develop the business by setting targets, creating policy and developing programs
• Determine the supplies, labour and budget required for campaigns, projects, programs and daily operations
• Make decisions related to the company’s products, services and suppliers
• Follow up on goals, targets and programs outcomes, evaluate and revise strategies
• Establish financial and administrative controls
• Conduct selection of management staff, approve recruiting strategies
• Coordinate between departments, plan and facilitate the expansion and implementation of departments
• Propose and arrange for new departments or locations in line with the growth of the business
• Foster business connections and solidify the company’s place in the industry
• Act on behalf of the company when finalizing business deals, negotiating and forming business relationships

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full Time, Long Term

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week 

Wages:  $55.00 per hour 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations 

Benefits Package: 

• Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer
• Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis

Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible

 

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

• Several years’ experience in the manufacturing industry may be substituted for education
• Five years’ senior management experience in the manufacturing industry required
• Able to speak, write, read and understand English
