Tree Service Technician (1 Vacancy)

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: $19.00 Hourly, for 40.00 Hours per week Start Date: As soon as possible

Education: No former education required

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the field are required 

Languages: Written and Oral English required

Specific Skills:

• Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease, and apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions.
• Select seedlings and plant trees using manual planting tools in reforestation areas.
• Operate a commercial sized brush saw, removing unwanted trees and shrubs from a young, growing forest, allowing room for favored tree species to grow.
• Complete onsite activities including but not limited to: scaling up , repairing trees, planting etc.
• Calculate the monetary value of trees
• Develop and plan budgets for tree maintenance

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, ability to work in adverse weather conditions throughout the year, ability to work in remote forested areas and use logging roads for access. Must be physically fit. Must be willing to work in a team environment and carpool with others. 4x4 or high ground clearance vehicle an asset.
