Job Duties

• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all the aspects of vehicle
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, tarping and ensuring safety and security cargo
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Perform emergency roadside repairs and brake adjustments
• Load and unload goods
• Drive as a team of two people or with a convoy
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, fuel consumption and to maintain log books
• Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers
• Have the foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc) and
• Operate and drive primarily tractor-trailor, long-combination vehicle to transport goods and materials over long distance
