Salary:$21 per hour(Bi-weekly pay)

Hours: 40 per week

Overtime: overtime rate of $ 31.50 per hour after 40 hours of work per week.

Benefits Package: will be according to BC Employment Standard Act & 4% vacation pay, plus paid Statutory Holiday

Medical: BC Medical Services Plan payable by employee

Language: Basic English

Minimum Education: No education

Experience: No experience required. Paid on the job training will be provided but someone with general labour expectance in construction industry will be given preference.

Job Duties:

 

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, At heights, dusty

Job Duties:

Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas

1.     Assists drywall installer in construction activities.

2.     Helps Trim rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints, using knife.

3.     Help fit and fastens wallboard or sheetrock into specified position, using hand tools, portable power tools, or adhesive.

4.     Load and unload drywall sheets and move them to work areas.

5.     Clean and prepare surfaces.

6.     Move the filling material from one place to another as per Drywall Installer’s instructions.

7.     Sand the areas after filling.

8.     Removes plaster, drywall, or panelling, using crowbar and hammer.

9.     Assist Drywall Installers and help them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities.

10.  Help layout reference lines and points, computes position of framing and furring channels, and mark position, using chalk line.

11.  Additional skills:

12.  Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.

13.  Measures and helps mark cutting lines on framing, drywall, and trim, using tape measure, straightedge or square, and marking devices.

 

Eligibility:

Experience: No experience required. Paid on the job training will be provided but someone with general labour expectance in construction industry will be given preference.

Required skills: • Prior experience in construction is an asset • Ability to work in fast-paced physically demanding and tight deadlines environment • Team player and highly adaptive to work in culturally diverse environment • This job may require handling of weights up to 50lbs
