Logistics Manager - Barrie Ontario Region

Fantastic opportunity with successful and growing Barrie area business. Duties will include:

-Support freight and logistics strategy through the optimization of warehousing and shipping of inbound and outbound
-To respond to, address, and resolve all service and operational issues in a clear, focused, and timely manner
-Continuous improvement on processes, systems and methods so that the company can improve service and costs
-Optimize the logistics network (inbound and outbound) while maintaining required capacity, and meeting expected service levels
Execute and implement continuous improvement activities of the logistics and freight network
-Implementation of strategic transportation/logistics initiatives
-Coordinate Transportation for capital project activities requiring logistical support
-Develop Logistics/Transportation KPI's and track performance against the key performance indicators
-Perform other duties and special projects as required.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;
-Bachelor’s Degree preferred
-Supply Chain / Logistics professional designation an asset
-Experience – Minimum 5 years
-Proven track record of implementing cost controls, improving operational processes, and achieving customer satisfaction goals
-Comprehensive understanding of logistics cost models, and typical routings, time, and cost for movement of products and goods
-Proven track record of establishing and managing transportation utilizing people, processes, and systems to successfully achieve transportation cost savings and meet/exceed customer service levels.
-Superior critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to identify problems, resolve issues, mitigate risks, and initiate continuous improvements initiatives
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business and financial implications as evidenced by understanding of complex financial/transportation models
-Ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently yet effectively make decisions under pressure in a culture of rapid change and growth while meeting deadlines
-Strong work ethic and acts with a sense of urgency and purpose balanced with a day-to-day operational detailed hands on focus
-Demonstrates strong leadership behaviors and sets a positive example with a high level of integrity 
-Strong planning and execution skills
-Superior communication skills to develop effective working relationships with peers, plant operations, customer service, sales and executives to optimize efficiencies across the organization
-Advanced level of comfort in Excel and experience with an ERP
