Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

The Big Playhouse Childcare Inc. seeks for an enthusiastic ECE for our centre in Vancouver, BC!

Position: Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Working location: 249 E 57th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5X 1S6

Compensation: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour (Depends on experience)

Working hours: 30-40 hours per week (Permanent / Full-time)

Benefit: 10 days paid vacation or 4% vacation pay

Duties of this position include, but will not be limited to:

• Plan, design and develop appropriate programs and activities based on observation of individual children to meet children’s physical, intellectual, social, cultural, and emotional needs.
• Maintain and update the records of children as taking notes of their activities.
• Regularly communicate with colleagues, parents, and guardians regarding children in development and learning progress.
• Develop listening, comprehension and motor skills using approved subjects in storytelling, role playing, games, music, and creative art activities.
• Supervise both indoor and outdoor play times including community trips.
• Release children only to those authorized by parents/guardian, to ask for identification to ensure that the authorized pick-up has been verified.

Qualifications:

• Language: English
• ECE Basic License to Practice in BC is required.
• Completion of College/CEGEP or vocational is required.
• BC ECE Infant Toddler and/or Special Needs is an asset.
• Experience is an asset.
