Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Own Tools/Equipment: Hard hat, Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Handling heavy loads
Work Location Information: Various locations
Work Site Environment: Dusty, Hot
Additional Skills: Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications, Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
Weight Handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs)
Work Setting: Residential
Plasterer Specific Skills: Clean and prepare surfaces, Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
Drywall Installer and Finisher Specific Skills: Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints, Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry, Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets, Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings, Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound, Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife, Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners, Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
