Labourer - Wood Processing

Permanent Position: Labourer – Wood Processing (NOC #9614)

Anticipated Start Date (at the latest in 3 months): As soon as possible.

Location: 3467 McCallum Rd. Abbotsford, BC V2S 7W6

Wage Rate: $22.50 Hourly, for 35-40 Hours per week

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day

Education: No Education Required

Experience: No Experience Required. On job training will be provided.

Languages: No language requirements.

Job Duties:

• Feed logs onto conveyor and align logs manually, using crowbar or other tools and equipment’s.

• Sort, pile and transport lumber, veneer sheets, and similar wood products during various stages of wood processing.
• Stacking, banding & wrapping finished loads.
• Lifting and moving lumber at the workplace.
• Remove scrap lumber and wood chips for reprocessing.
• Feed conveyors, saws, drying machines and other equipment to process lumber.
• Do the cleaning of processing machines and work areas.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure. Able to lift loads. Combination of sitting, standing & walking.

Essential Skills: Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory.

Other Information: Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada. Position is available and open to Aboriginal persons, youth, new immigrants, and persons with disabilities.
