Salary:                                                            $28/hr

Overtime:                                                      $42.00/hr (As per BC Standards – for over 8 hrs/day; 40 hrs/wk)

Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or sketches in order to determine job specifications and to calculate material requirements
  • Prepare layouts that conform to established plans and building codes
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join studs made of lightweight metals according to plans, building codes, and established requirements
  • Erect walls, primarily internal walls made of lightweight metals, according to plans
  • Fit and install prefabricated items such as doors, windows, pass-throughs, etc.
  • Proficiently and safely use/operate various hand and electric/air tools such as levels, tape measures, clamps, hammers, chisels, tin snips, nail guns, drills, drivers, hand & chop saws, etc.
  • Demonstrate accuracy, precision, and attention to details at all times, and be mindful of proficient and economical use of materials (ie: measure twice, cut once) and equipment
  • Demonstrate outstanding organizational skills by keeping project tools and materials clean and easily accessible and improve job quality by identifying improvements
  • Lift/carry heavy pieces of material/structures and be able to control it while safely
  • Follow safety procedures
