We are currently hiring “Window & Door Assemblers” for our team. The Window & Door Assembler is a key production role, with overall responsibility for the efficient daily manufacture of our quality products. The Window & Door Assembler works in operations according to assembly/department requirements and adheres to policies and procedures to ensure designated levels of productivity and quality are maintained. The Window & Door Assembler is cross trained in multiple facets of window and door manufacture and strives to achieve the Thermoproof Mission and lives our Values in all activities undertaken.

Work Conditions and Physical capabilities
- Work normally requires a high level of physical effort in lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, and handling.
- Work normally requires a moderate level of mental effort in reading, handling multiple demands and repetitive tasks, with occasional interruptions and distractions.
- Work normally requires a moderate level of visual effort in operating equipment.
- The ability to stand continuously is essential with occasional walking and sitting.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Exposure to typical plant manufacturing environment: noise, dust, machinery, trip/fall hazards.
- Potential dangers involved with mechanical work.
Major Responsibilities
- Screw, clip, glue, bond, weld or otherwise assemble parts and components to form final products.
- Sand, trim, grind, or clean products into final form using hand tools.
- Operate various production assembly machines and tools to fabricate parts and products. Utilize technological capabilities to minimize waste
- Load, feed, or place materials into machine.
- Cut, shape and fit materials to form parts and components.
- Visually inspect product for accuracy and quality at each phase of production, and exercise discretion to stop production to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Affix seal or tags to approved products.
- Maintain production and manufacturing documentation (paper or electronic) as required.
- Maintain awareness of raw material inventories and communicate to ensure stock outs do not occur.
- Participate as scheduled in company-provided training to ensure knowledge of equipment operation and product remains current.
- Maintain a safe, clean workplace, and comply with all Thermoproof policy and regulatory requirements (for example, Work-safe BC requirements for safety footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, eye protection).
Knowledge, Experience & Skill Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent would be an asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
- Good mechanical aptitude and basic mathematics skills.
- Excellent manual dexterity. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, machinery.
- Detail oriented, with the ability to work to close tolerances using extreme care in adjusting, fitting and alignment.
- Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
