G Star Construction Ltd. is looking for Concrete Finishers to join our team. We build new houses, commercial buildings and do complete renovations.

Job Type: Full time; Permanent

Number of Positions: 2

Salary: 31.00 per hour

Expected start date: As soon as possible

Work locations: Various locations in Lower Mainland, BC and/or as per company’s contracts with its clients

Work Conditions and Physical capabilities: Physically demanding

 

Job Responsibilities

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces as per plan & requirements.

• Ensure even concrete surfaces by smoothing and finishing freshly poured concrete.
• Fill holes and spread, level and smooth concrete as per grade and depth specifications using straightedge or float.
• Create the final finish to concrete surfaces according to client’s requestusing hand and power tools.

• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface.
• Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces.
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.

 

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

• Completion of high school.
• Completion of two- to four-year apprenticeship program or minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in trade
• Trade certification would be an asset but not mandatory.
• Ability to communicate in English.
