Position details:

Title: Carpenter

Employment terms: Permanent, full-time

NOC: 7271 (Carpenters)

Positions Available: 4

Wage rate: $29.00 /hour, 40 hours/week

Start date: As soon as possible

Position requirements: High School Education is required with 2 years to less than 3 years of Experience.  Basic knowledge of English is required.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Tight deadlines, Work under pressure, Walking, Bending, Crouching, Kneeling, physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks.

Work Site Environment: Noisy, Dusty, Hot, Cold temperature.

Work location: Various locations all over lower mainland.

Following are the job duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and materials required
• Measure surfaces and prepare layouts
• Install doors, stairs, windows, moulding and hardware
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood and other material
• Build foundations, erect walls and roof systems
• Perform repair and renovation on various establishments
