Nature of position:      Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $18 – $20 per hour (dependent on experience) plus 4% of pooled tips to be allocated among all kitchen staff, based on hours worked

Vacation:                     4% in lieu of paid vacation

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

• Open and prepare kitchen for service, including food, supplies, and equipment.
• Prepare and cook individual dishes, with a focus on Italian cuisine.
• Serve as line cook during service.
• Clean kitchen and work area at end of service.
• Oversee other kitchen operations by ensuring that food safety procedures are being followed.
• Train and assist new kitchen staff members.

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

• At least 6 months of experience as a cook in a commercial establishment is preferred.
• Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints.
• Willingness to learn and to work in a team environment.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Respectful style of communication.
