Tiger Ring Construction was founded in 2015 in Vancouver, Canada. The founder, Tatsuya Anazawa was born in Fukushima, Japan in 1984, where he studied Japanese carpentry for over 7 years, and is now a master carpenter. Since relocating to Vancouver in 2010, he is working to spread the traditions of Japanese skill and quality through home and commercial renovations.

 

We are currently looking for two permanent and full-time Carpenters / Apprentice Carpenters.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
  • Supervise apprentices and other construction workers
  • May prepare cost estimates for clients.

 

Education, skills and experience required:

  • Completion of secondary school
  • Some experience in construction is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Multi-tasking
  • Positive attitude

 

Language: English communication skills

 

Compensation & Benefit:

$28.00/hour, 4% paid vacation

 

Work Location: Various Locations in B.C. including but not limited to Burnaby, Delta, New Westminster, Richmond, Surrey Vancouver, etc.
