Job Requirements

Education: College diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience

Specific Skills:

  • Assisting the HR Manager/Director in advising managers and supervisors on legal compliance issues including Employment Standards Act, Workers Compensation Act and Human Rights Code legislations

  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance, produce and submit reports on general HR activity

  • Managing human resource records by keeping accurate, up to date employee files including contracts, performance, reviews, and benefits forms, payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates etc. in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met and ensure accurate, timely information can be made available to management and staff

  • Providing recruitment support for managers and supervisors by assisting in creating job postings, interview questions, reference checks  and job offers

  • Assist supervisors in performance management procedures; assist in ad-hoc HR projects, like collection of employee feedback

  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events etc. and maintain the team’s agenda

  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars; perform orientations, onboarding and update records with new hires

  • Ensuring the employee handbook is kept up to date by making revisions as new policies and procedures come into effect

  • Assisting the HR Manager/Director in creating new HR policies; research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, salary scales and competency appraisal measures and systems, and make recommendations on the necessary change to the current policy

  • Ensuring strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee issues

  • Creating new hire employee letters, packages, and managing the onboarding process


Personal Suitability: 

  • Proven experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position

  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices

  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, in particular)

  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality

  • Good organizational and time management skills
