Hair Dressers

Positions Available: 2 

Salary : $17.00 per hour

40 hours per week. 

The main job duties are: 

• Maintain work stations and sanitizing tools and equipment
• Apply hair color, dye, and tints
• Wax eyebrows and facial hair
• Trim, cut, and shave hair, using clippers, scissors, trimmers, and razors
• Suggest hairstyle compatible with client's physical features or determine style from client's instructions and preferences
• Shampoo hair and provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and may also provide scalp conditioning massage
• Closely follow safety, sanitation, and health standards
• Keep up with the latest beauty trends
• Book appointments and order supplies
• Clean and style wigs and hair pieces
• Apply hair extensions
• Perform receptionist duties and order supplies
• Train or supervise other hairstylists, hairstylist apprentices and helpers.

Employment requirement

• Some secondary school education is required.
• Completion of a two- or three-year hairstyling apprenticeship program OR completion of a college or other program in hairstyling is an asset.
• Several years of experience may replace formal education and training.
