Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Willowbrae Academy Victoria is a licensed child care centre for children from Infant to Preschool age. We are now looking to hire a full-time Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join us. We expect the team member to be passionate, reliable, trustworthy, loving, energetic and well presented to be eligible for this position.

Job duties:

• Provide support for the childcare educators
• Assist in planning developmentally appropriate activities (indoor and outdoor) that encompasses the children's interest and curiosities
• Guide children's behavior and social development
• Prepare and serve snacks
• Assist the childcare educators in developing children’s proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
• Diaper and feed infants and toddlers
• Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
• Attend to daily housekeeping
• Assist the childcare educators in maintaining a safe and positive environment.
• Prepare play and learning materials and engage children in activities
• Set up the children's learning, playing and eating environment
• Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators

Qualifications:

• Completion of high school
• 1 to less than 7 months experience in child care
• Completion of an ECE/ECEA program would be an asset
• Holding an ECE/ECEA certificate would be an asset
• Must be enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and working with children
