Job Requirements

Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Tasks

• Inspect formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials.
• Oversee the pouring of concrete into forms or onto surfaces in line with specified grades
• Fill low spots, level and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed and float to achieve a smooth surface to specified grade and depth
• Use a power vibrator to ensure proper compaction of concrete.
• Set anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fittings into the fresh concrete
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete. Chip, scrap and grind high spots, ridges and rough projections to finish concrete using pneumatic chisels, power grinder and or hand tools.
• Perform waterproofing, damp-proofing, and restoration of concrete surfaces
• Fix, resurface, or replace damaged or worn concrete in floors, walls, roads, and other structures. Build wooden moulds and clamp moulds around area to be repaired using hand tools.
• Apply the desired finish to concrete using hand and power finishing tools. Sprinkle colour marble or stone chips, powered steel or colouring powder over surface to produce prescribed finish.
