Education:  Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience:  1 years to less than 2 years

Job Description:

• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
• Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labor costs
• Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Recruit and hire staff
• Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.

Additional Skills:  Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food; Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions; Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:  Work under pressure; Physically demanding; Standing for extended periods
