Salary: $24.50 to $26.20/ hour

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: Will train

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: AZ class license

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Transportation/Travel Information: Local, Long-haul, Short-haul

Communication Systems Experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment

Documentation Knowledge: Accident or incident reports, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trip reports, Maintenance and repair reports, Bill of lading, Trans-border documentation, Driver logbook

 

Specific Skills: Address customers' complaints or concerns, Professionalism in customer service, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Load and unload goods, Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Perform emergency roadside repairs, Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, Perform preventive maintenance, Receive and relay information to central dispatch, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Security and safety: Valid passport

Transportation/Travel Experience: Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight
