Main responsibilities:

  • Must be able to guide guests through the menu, answer questions, make recommendations and, if necessary, suggest suitable dishes.
  • Explain how the various dishes on the menu are prepared, describing the ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Make sure all guests benefit from current, ongoing and upcoming promotions.
  • Help the host or hostess by answering phone calls to reserve a table or order takeaway, as well as greet, seat and thank guests.
  • Assist with training and development of new employees as needed.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork in the restaurant.
  • Provide various services to guests, promptly accepting orders, serving food and drinks to guests.
  • Collect payments from guests in a timely manner.
  • Ask guests if they like their food and take action to fix any problems.
  • Check guests' ID to make sure they meet the minimum drinking age requirements.
  • Clean tables or counters after guests have finished their meal.
  • Warehouse service areas with consumables such as coffee, food, utensils, etc.
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning server stations, taking out the trash, or checking and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and directed.
