Position: Cabinetmaker (NOC 7272)
Duration: Permanent, Full-Time (will also consider part-time workers)
Salary: $26.45/hr
Hours: 30/wk
Overtime: $39.67 (As per provincial standards – for over 8 hrs/day; 40 hrs/wk)
Observed Holidays: As outlined on labour.gov.bc.ca – 10 holidays/yr
Medical: BC MSP premiums payable by employee

Education: None Required
Experience: Some experience as a laborer will be an asset but not mandatory. Training will be provided on site.
Job Duties:
- Study project specifications (blueprints, sketches, plans, etc.)
- Inspect equipment and materials in order to identify potential problems or defects
- Set-up and operate a variety of woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, and shapers
- Measure and cut the bases, pedestals, housing, shelves, doors, drawers and tops.
- Cut, trim and/or shape joints to ensure snug fit – use hand-tools such as planes, chisels, or wood files
- Glue, fit and clamp parts and subassemblies together to form complete units using clamps or clamping machines
- May require use of stains, varnishes, or paints involved in finishing the product/assembly
- Clean-up the sawdust, discarded wood and product packaging. Vacuum and dust the work area before leaving each day
Working Conditions:
- Work is indoors and as such, may be exposed to high noise levels, airborne sawdust, and fumes from glues/chemicals used in assembling, finishing and/or stripping items
