Languages: English

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Ability to Supervise: 1-2 people

Specific Skills:

  • Collect and document user's requirements
  • Design and develop database
  • Design, construct, modify, implement and test data models and database management systems
  • Conduct research and provide advice to other informatics professionals regarding the selection application and implementation of database management tools
  • Operate database management systems to analyze data
  • Develop and implement data administration policy, standards and models
  • Research and document data requirements, data collection and administration policy, and data access rules
  • Develop policies and procedures for network access and usage and for the backup and recovery of data
  • Conduct research and provide advice to other information systems professionals regarding the collection, availability and suitability of data
  • Write scripts related to stored procedures and triggers
  • Working with database software to find ways to store, organize and manage data
  • troubleshooting
  • keeping databases up to date
  • helping with database design and development
  • managing database access
  • designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation
  • ensuring that databases meet user requirements
  • liaising with  applications/operational staff, managers and other technical staff
  • managing database security/integrity and backup procedures
  • implementing security measures
  • defining objectives through consultation with staff at all levels
  • writing reports, documentation and operating manuals
  • testing and modifying databases to ensure that they operate reliably
  • providing user training, support and feedback
  • writing and maintaining an efficient disaster recovery plans
  • Creating and maintaining levels of storage based on data collections
