Cook Apprentice
Job Description:
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work area
• Ensure the food quality is outstanding every time
• Ensure work areas, utensils, and production equipment are in a clean and sanitized state
• Ensure safe handling food procedures are followed, as well as health and safety policies are maintained
• May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• May hire and train kitchen staff.
• Develop the ability to prepare and cook French-Italian cuisine/special dishes offered by the restaurant
Job Requirements:
Education: No formal education required
Experience: Cooking experience would be considered an asset, but not necessary. We will train.
Language: English
