Job Description
T&S Transportation Systems Inc., a large fleet of over the road drivers, provide truckload transportation service to virtually all markets at any length of haul. We are currently looking for a Bookkeeper.
Job Duties
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping tasks such as preparing invoices, A/R, A/P, payroll and deposits
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls for company employees, supplier invoices, government remittances as well as other expenditures using relevant software
- Maintain company's financial records and recording day to day financial transactions
- Reconcile receipts and manage budgets, payroll and deposits
- Reconcile orders taken with the receipts
- Tally receipts for reconciliation
- Manage payments and receivables from other companies
- Prepare deposit slips after reconciling payment received
- Maintaining the trial balances, profit and loss statements and balance sheet
- Managing accounts payable and receivables, reconciling bank statements
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
- Provide clerical and administrative support to management, if required
- Prepare tax returns and perform other bookkeeping duties
Employment Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is mandatory. Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field will be an asset to have
- 1-2 years of full-time experience as bookkeeper or accounting clerk is required. Experience in logistics or transportation industry will be preferred, but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills in written and oral English
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Analyzing Information, Dealing with Complexity, Reporting Research Results, Data Entry Skills, Accounting, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Thoroughness
Benefits
As per mutual agreement and BC Employment standards act 4% vacation pay of the gross salary or 10 days of annual paid vacation. Extended medical benefits are offered after completion of 90 days of employment.
