Job responsibilities:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and administer clients’ connections with our cloud back-end server
• Support and maintain local area networks (LANs), mainframe networks, computer workstations, connections to the internet and peripheral equipment
• Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications
• Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to coordinate access and use of computer networks
• Provide problem-solving services to network users
• Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
• Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls
• Perform shell scripting or other basic scripting tasks

Qualifications:

• College diploma of computer science, network administration, web technology or a related field
• 1-2 year proven working experience in related field
• A strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
• Experience in routing and firewall installation, configuration, and administration will be required.
• Knowledge of network switches, firewalls, security and routing troubleshooting
• Knowledge of IP network protocols, data flows, and vulnerabilities within a TCP/IP environment
• Skills in system administration for Windows operating systems
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in at least one of the following:

o Firewall management platforms and methodologies

o Cisco ISE and Radius technologies

o BGP dynamic routing experience

o Python scripting experience

o SQL, Java or Json experience and/or Objective C development;

Job Details:

-          Wage: $30/hour, $54,600/annual

-          Working hours:  35 hours /week

-          Benefits offered: 2 weeks paid vacation / year

-          Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

-          Work Location: Bedford, NS
