Wage: $26.93 to $32.12 per hour
Schedule: 44 hours/week; must be available to work overtime incl. evenings &/or weekends

The Public Works department is looking for a full-time, versatile Heavy Equipment Operator with the capability to operate a variety of heavy equipment. The successful candidate will be called on to operate primarily a loader, but may also operate track hoe, buggy, grader, snowplow, scraper, and other equipment as needed. The successful candidate may also be called on to undertake general labour duties as required to meet operational needs.
Valid class 5 driver’s license is required; class 1 or 3 is an asset;
Acceptable driver’s abstract;
Physically capable of undertaking general labour duties;
Ability to undertake maintenance and repairs, as required;
Ability to deal with members of the public in a professional manner;
Must be willing to undertaking training in order to meet operational requirements;
Ability to complete paperwork and maintain records management practices pursuant to the County’s Records Management Policy;
Ability to maintain confidentiality pursuant to the County’s policy and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
The successful applicant will be a team player with good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. You will be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and be able to contribute positively to the team environment.
