Narita Sushi is a cornerstone in the Coquitlam community and has been recognized for its outstanding Japanese cuisine, excellent service, and friendly staffs. Our Restaurant is known for its modern interpretation of classic dishes and its insistence on only using high quality fresh ingredients. Narita Sushi currently seeking a proactive and team-oriented Cook to ensure day-to-day operations of Narita Sushi.

Position: Cook

Wage: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour (Depending on working experience)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Working Location: #408, 100 Schoolhouse Street, Coquitlam, BC, V3K 6V9

Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation

Duties:

• Prepare and cook a variety of authentic meals according to menu;
• Prepare special dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances;
• Assist the main chef to train kitchen staff;
• Monitor inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;
• Estimate food requirement and cost, and place an order in timely manner;
• Oversee daily operation of kitchen;
• Ensure the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized;

Qualifications:

• Completion of secondary school is required;
• Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks OR, completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety OR, at least 1+ year of commercial cooking experience may be required.
• Able to work under pressure as a team player in a busy kitchen atmosphere;
• Able to communicate in English orally;
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
