Tasks
Interpret welding process specifications; Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manual and processes; Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and specifications; Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment; Fit, braze and torch- straighten metal; Determine weldability of materials; Perform structural repairs on vehcile; Utlitizes standard welding and shop tool, equipment and measuring instruments to perform complex welding repair, fabirication etc.; Work of arc, metal inert gas (MIG), and gas welding procedures, tools and equipment used in structural repair of light and heavy equipment and a variety of different tanks to include knioweldge of various types of steel such as cast components and aluminium; Finding the right pieces of metal according to the design; Assess, identify welding surfaces to fill gaps
