Optimal Assessment Health Centre was formally known as a multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to an integrated approach in providing rehabilitation services and health management to local and neighbor communities for patients suffering from injuries caused by motor vehicle accidents, sport and exercise, WSIB, slip, and fall; as well as pre-and post-operative program.  Due to the high demand for medical-legal evaluations and reports, we redirected our attention to focus on medical-legal evaluations and independent medical evaluations specializing in plaintiff and defense counsel, employers, insurers, and disability carriers to assess impairment, disability, causation, and liability.

 

We are currently recruiting a Patient Care Aide to supervise patients' exercise routines, and set up and provide leisure activities for patients.

 

SALARY/TERMS

$29 per hour, 30-40 hours per week

Monday to Friday

Full-time; Permanent

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Carry out rehabilitation plans for the patient and assist with activities of daily living, supervise patients' exercise routines, set up and provide leisure activities for patients, and accompany patients on outside recreational activities.
  2. Help patients live and move around safely, including transferring them from beds to wheelchairs or assisting them with walking.
  3. Assist patients with medication reminders or administer medications under the direction and supervision of licensed healthcare providers.
  4. Ensure cleanliness and hygiene and maintain a clean and organized environment for the patient.
  5. Monitor patients' condition and behavior, noting any changes or signs of distress, and report and communicate with the rehabilitation team regarding any findings or abnormal signals.
  6. Implement safety measures to prevent accidents or injuries, such as using proper lifting techniques and ensuring equipment is in good working condition.
  7. Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, including ADL assistance provided, medication administration, and any other relevant information.
  8. Keep track of supplies and equipment used in patient care, including restocking supplies as needed, and informing appropriate staff of shortages or discrepancies in inventory.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Completion of secondary school education is required. Higher education is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 1-2 previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a similar role; or experience with patient care tasks.
  3. Strong understanding of basic medical terminology and procedures.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks such as medication administration, patient monitoring, and documentation.
  6. Adherence to professional codes of conduct and legal regulations governing healthcare practices.
