Job Responsibilities
As an Early Childhood Educator (ECE), you will:
? Develop and implement age-appropriate childcare programs that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth.
? Observe and assess children’s development, identifying learning needs or behavioral concerns.
? Engage children in interactive learning through storytelling, music, art, dramatic play, and physical activities.
? Assist in bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers while maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
? Guide and support children in developing proper eating, dressing, and hygiene habits.
? Supervise and coordinate activities for school-age children before and after school hours.
? Communicate with parents and guardians about children's progress and developmental needs.
? Maintain records, reports, and observations in compliance with BC Child Care Licensing Regulations.
? Plan and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that meets the health, security, and well-being of children.
? Supervise and mentor early childhood educator assistants, trainees, and volunteers.
Required Qualifications
? Education: College, CEGEP, or diploma (1-2 years) in Early Childhood Education
? Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in early childhood education
? Certificates/Licenses:
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate (Issued by the BC ECE Registry)
- First Aid Certificate
? Skills & Knowledge: - Strong understanding of child development principles
- Knowledge of BC Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Experience with children with special needs, including ADHD, behavioral issues, and allergies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a team
Work Conditions & Requirements
On-Site Work: This role requires working at our physical location; remote work is not an option.
Criminal Record Check Required for security and safety compliance.
Combination of Sitting, Standing, and Walking throughout the day.
