Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Wage: $34 - $37 CAD

Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute break, on a monthly rotation

Benefits: Medical and dental coverage after 6 months (50% employer-paid)

About the Role

Glenayre Montessori Centre is a licensed childcare centre offering care and education for children aged 2 to 5. We are looking for a qualified and caring Early Childhood Educator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver engaging early learning experiences that nurture each child’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth

Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and creative learning materials tailored to children's individual needs and interests

Facilitate daily activities such as storytelling, singing, arts and crafts, drama, nature walks, and movement games to encourage self-expression and discovery

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment, including routine cleaning and sanitizing of learning areas and materials

Ensure the ongoing health, safety, and well-being of all children under your care by closely monitoring play and activity time

Support children in developing daily life skills, including healthy eating habits, dressing independently, and toilet training

Monitor children's behavior and development; document observations and share insights with families and fellow educators

Build strong, respectful relationships with children, parents, co-workers, and external professionals to foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment

Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of classroom practices and program quality

May supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.

Qualifications

Completion of a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Psychology, or Social Welfare.

Valid ECE license (required)

First Aid certification (required)

Clear criminal record check (required)

7 months to less than 1 year of experience

Montessori certification is an asset

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively
