Job Overview

Metro Doors & Woodworking is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in woodworking, door installation, and residential or commercial renovation projects. This position requires precision, craftsmanship, and the ability to interpret technical drawings to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk and marking gauge.
• Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and materials according to measurements.
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors and mouldings.
• Build frameworks, including partitions, joints, studding, and rafters.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
• Lay out flooring, roofing, and drywall ensuring a level surface.
• Use hand tools and power tools and shape, cut and install building materials.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to full grasp requirements.
• Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks and props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Supervise other workers and guide them according to the work requirement.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all health and safety regulations

Qualifications

• Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent experience

• 1–2 years of related carpentry experience

• Strong knowledge of woodworking tools, techniques, and safety procedures

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Good communication and time-management skills

Work Setting

• On-site position — work must be completed at our physical location.

• No remote work option is available.
