Job Position: Chef (6321)

Location: Mackenzie, B.C

Salary: $ 23.50 /Hourly on 35 to 40 hours/week work schedule

Vacancy: One (1)

Responsibilities and Duties

An exciting opportunity for a skilled Chef to join our talented culinary team in Mackenzie, British Columbia. In this role, you will work with the culinary team to ensure a profitable and successful food and beverage operation. Working full time, you will use your specialized skills to:

Maintains their work station area in a clean and sanitary condition as they work.

Procurement, ordering and quality control of all incoming raw goods

To be aware of upcoming functions and ensure that all items are ordered, received and prepared on time and up to standard

Executes production work in a timely manner and according to company standards

Ensure that all cook and hold temperatures are maintained and recorded as per company guidelines

Ensures that all menu items are promptly prepared within reasonable time and presentation is up to Chef’s standards.

Provides a non-threatening, positive and progressive work environment at all times.

Ensures minimum wastage by preparing and storing food correctly.

Focus on sorting of organic waste.

Follow proper FIFO rotation methods to ensure food product is fresh.

Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and sanitized after every use

Reports any kitchen deficiencies to the Management

Assists in the receiving and storing of all stock orders.

Maintains organization and cleanliness of all freezers and coolers on a frequent basis. Maintains a positive attitude towards the company and its direction

Any other duties as assigned by the management

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for these roles, you will need a high school diploma, with 3 to 5 years of experience.

To be successful in this role, you will need good communication skills which will help you effectively converse with management, kitchen, and service staff. The ability to deal with peak period meal service with good decision-making skills will serve you well in this role.

Hands-on experience is required for this role, and you must possess the ability to coach and mentor staff, assist with production and expediting as required. Any banquet experience plus experience in a high-volume restaurant/hotel environment or chain restaurant will be considered an asset.
