About the role

We’re seeking a compassionate Personal Support Worker to provide safe, respectful, and person-centred care to an elderly female in a non-smoking, scent-free home environment.

What you’ll do

  • Provide daily personal care to senior, including grooming, dressing, and hygiene assistance, while maintaining her dignity and independence.

  • Support safe mobility and transfers, helping the senior and offering clear verbal guidance and reassurance during movement.

  • Encourage and assist with light exercise or physiotherapy routines, providing step-by-step direction and motivation.

  • Prepare and serve balanced meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences; confirm comfort with food choices.

  • Administer or remind medications as directed by family or healthcare providers, ensuring clear understanding of timing and dosage.

  • Monitor and report changes in health, mood, or appetite, communicating observations promptly.

  • Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging in daily conversation, reading, or simple leisure activities that keep the senior mentally and socially active.

  • Accompany the senior to appointments and social outings, and communicate her needs to others when necessary.

  • Perform light housekeeping related to the senior’s care, such as tidying rooms, doing laundry, and keeping care areas clean and safe.

  • Maintain a calm, organized, and supportive home environment that promotes safety, comfort, and trust.

What you bring

  • Experience: At least 1 year of senior care in home or community care.

  • Education: No formal degree/diploma required.

  • Credentials (required):

    • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate

    • CPR and First Aid Certificates

  • Transportation: Valid driver’s licence.

  • Language: English.

    • Asset:Mandarin (the senior only speaks Mandarin). If you don’t speak Mandarin but have a practical communication plan, you’re still encouraged to apply.

  • Personal suitability: Punctual, reliable, patient, organized, sound judgment, flexible, and strong interpersonal skills.
