 Job Duties:

  • • Design, develop, and test power resistor systems and assemblies, including neutral grounding resistors (NGRs), high resistance grounding (HRG) systems, load banks, dynamic braking resistors (DBRs), and power quality solutions for industrial, commercial, utility, and institutional applications.
    • Support the engineering of both standard product lines and custom project solutions across low- to medium-voltage and kilowatt- to megawatt-rated systems.
    • Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine design and manufacturing requirements for power resistor equipment.
    • Supervise the building, assembly, and testing of prototypes and finished assemblies in accordance with applicable standards (IEEE, CSA, UL, IEC) and established internal procedures.
    • Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, and operational testing of power resistor equipment, grounding systems, load banks, and related control systems.
    • Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test, and analyze the performance of resistor assemblies, control boxes, and related electrical and electronic components.
    • Carry out applied research in power resistor technology, thermal management, and electrical safety under the direction of senior engineers.
    • Perform quality control inspections on electrical equipment, control panels, and resistor assemblies to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
    • Perform receipt and inspection of incoming materials and calibration of measuring equipment according to technical manuals and standard operating procedures.
    • Prepare and maintain specifications, technical documentation, project schedules, budgets, and reports to support quality, compliance, and customer requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, fabrication, and application engineering to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments.
    • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as required.
    • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and quality.
    • Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed and health and safety regulations are followed.
