Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Job Duties: 

• Help coworkers with cleaning, organizing, and basic meal preparation.
• Plan and carry out child-care programs that support children’s physical, mental, emotional, and social development.
• Read stories and encourage a love of books.
• Observe each child’s growth and development to create a learning plan that fits their individual needs.
• Support early childhood educators in delivering programs that help children grow and learn in all areas of development.
• Help maintain accurate records of children’s progress and daily activities.
• Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
• Share written observations about children’s behavior and development with supervisors or educators.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
• Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers.
