Job Overview

A private household in Caledon, Ontario is seeking a caring, responsible, and experienced Home Child Care Provider to provide attentive care and supervision for children in a safe and nurturing home environment. The successful candidate will support children’s daily routines, well-being, and development while maintaining a clean and organized household.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide daily care to ensure the child’s safety and well-being at all times.

  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks appropriate for the child’s age.

  • Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.

  • Support daily routines such as school preparation, homework time, and bedtime schedules.

  • Organize age-appropriate educational and recreational activities to support development.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment related to child care.

  • Monitor the child’s health and report any concerns to the parents promptly.

  • Encourage positive behavior and discipline according to parents’ guidance.

  • Accompany the child to outings, activities, or appointments as required.

  • Keep brief daily records of activities, meals, and any notable events.

Qualifications

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

  • 1 to less than 2 years of relevant child care experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

  • Patient, reliable, and attentive to children’s needs

Security & Safety Requirements

  • Criminal record check

  • Basic security clearance

Work Schedule

  • Flexible hours including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as required

  • On-site work only; remote work is not available
