Overview

Hewitt (Brockville) Ltd. is seeking a full-time Machinist to work at its Brockville, Ontario facility. The successful candidate will perform precision machining work using conventional and CNC equipment in support of manufacturing, repair, and maintenance operations. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately to close tolerances.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Machinist will be responsible for the following duties:

• Precision manual machining on lathes, turret mills, and grinders
• Machining shafts
• Milling items for spare parts
• Performing repair machining on electric motor components
• Creating CAD drawings for parts to be machined
• CNC programming using Mastercam software
• Operating CNC lathes and CNC vertical milling machines

Employment requirements

• Language of work: English
• Education: Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience
• Experience: 3 years minimum
• Experience using computer numerical control (CNC) machines
• Experience with CNC programming software, including Mastercam, is an asset
