Truck and trailer repairer

Salary: $37 to 40 hourly (To be negotiated) / 30 hours per week
Overtime:1.5 times gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Duties and Responsibilities -

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on commercial trucks and trailers.

• Inspect vehicles to identify faults and mechanical issues.

• Review work orders before starting repairs.

• Test vehicle systems using diagnostic equipment.

• Repair or replace defective truck components and systems.

• Repair or replace damaged trailer parts and components.

• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications.

• Estimate parts and labour required for repairs.

• Perform routine maintenance and scheduled servicing.

• Adjust and calibrate components for proper operation.

• Advise customers on completed repairs and future maintenance needs.

• Complete service reports and maintain accurate repair records.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills to understand instructions, safety procedures,and work orders.
• Work must be performed on-site at the repair shop, with no option for remote work.
• Work environment may include outdoor conditions and exposure to dust, heat, noise, odours, and dirtysurroundings.
• Ability to handle heavy-duty truck and trailer components, tools, and equipment in a physicallydemanding repair environment.
