Terminal Supervisor – Motor Transport

Employment Details

  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week

  • Wage: $37.50 to $40.00 per hour (negotiable)

  • Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Schedule

Early mornings, mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, shifts, on-call, flexible hours, and overtime as required.

Language

Education

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

  • 3 to less than 5 years of experience in the trucking or transportation industry in a supervisory role.

Job Duties

  • Supervise daily terminal operations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and freight handling.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to maintain on-time delivery schedules.
  • Monitor staff performance and assign duties to warehouse and dock personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and transportation regulations.
  • Track freight movement and resolve delays, damages, or shipment discrepancies.
  • Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, and customers regarding shipment status.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo, inventory, and terminal activities.
  • Inspect equipment and terminal facilities to ensure proper working conditions.
  • Train and support terminal staff on operational procedures and safety standards.
  • Manage workflow to improve productivity and minimize terminal congestion.

  • Fast-paced trucking terminal environment.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
