We are seeking a knowledgeable and responsible Flower Store Supervisor to oversee daily store operations, supervise staff, assist customers, and maintain the quality and presentation of our floral products.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of flower store employees;
- Assign duties, monitor staff performance, and assist with staff training;
- Oversee the preparation, arrangement, presentation, and maintenance of flowers and floral products;
- Assist customers with flower selection, floral arrangements, orders, and special requests;
- Apply knowledge of floral design, horticulture, flowers, plants, and seasonal floral products;
- Develop and maintain attractive floral displays suitable for different occasions and customer preferences;
- Monitor inventory and coordinate the ordering, receiving, storage, and handling of flowers and related supplies;
- Ensure the quality, freshness, and proper presentation of flowers and plants;
- Handle customer inquiries, orders, and complaints professionally;
- Assist with sales, merchandising, promotions, and seasonal displays;
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment;
- Open and close the store and perform other supervisory and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Post-secondary education in landscape architecture, horticulture, floriculture, floral design, botany, or a closely related field;
- 1–7 months of relevant work experience as a store supervisor in a flower shop;
- Good knowledge of flowers, plants, floral products, and basic floral arrangement techniques;
- Familiarity with both Eastern and Western floral aesthetics, design preferences, and cultural approaches to flower presentation;
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Good customer service, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to supervise staff and coordinate daily store operations effectively;
- Professional certificates, diplomas, or other recognized qualifications related to horticulture, landscaping, floriculture, or floral design are considered an asset;
- Relevant awards, professional recognition, competition achievements, or other accomplishments in floral design, horticulture, or related fields are considered an asset;
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment;
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when required.
